Jayapura, Jubi – The Central Papua Provincial Government has reminded civil servants (ASN), honorary staff, and non-civil servant employees within its administration not to neglect their duties and responsibilities because of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Central Papua Governor’s Expert Staff for Economic Affairs, Finance, and Development, Herman Kayame, said that although the World Cup is currently underway, work discipline among government employees must remain a priority.
According to Kayame, all civil servants, honorary workers, and non-ASN employees within the Central Papua Provincial Government must continue to prioritize work discipline and public service.
He delivered the statement while representing Central Papua Governor Meki Nawipa and Deputy Governor Deinas Geley during a joint assembly held at the Governor’s Office compound at the Old Airport area in Nabire, Central Papua, on Wednesday.
“Watching World Cup matches must not interfere with working hours. Employee attendance, task completion, and public services must not be neglected. Civil servants are expected to arrive on time, carry out their duties responsibly, and maintain professionalism in their work,” Kayame said.
He emphasized that public services must not be disrupted by the World Cup, as the people of Central Papua continue to rely on a government that is responsive, efficient, friendly, and capable of providing solutions.
“Discipline among civil servants is part of our commitment as government officials and public servants,” he said.
Kayame also called on all civil servants and honorary staff to maintain commitment to work, discipline, loyalty, and sense of responsibility in carrying out their duties.
In addition, he urged every government agency to strengthen coordination, accelerate program implementation, and ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with regulations.
He noted that the responsibilities of civil servants and non-civil servant government employees extend beyond simply being present at the office. They must work diligently, uphold integrity, and provide the best possible service to the people of Central Papua.
“Let us make this joint assembly a reminder to work in a more orderly, efficient, and responsible manner,” Kayame said. (*)
